I’d to understand this the tough way. You can be nice to the ones you care for the most but soon they will start to take advantage of you. Even when you notice certain things. You pretend you don’t know anything and continue to be there for them.

Stop doing that, soon they have to recognize you can’t keep doing the same thing to someone and expect them to be the same. Their bright light will fade away but still shine in someone else eyes. Don’t allow anyone to take your light away. Speak up and wash your hands with them. They can be somebody else heartache.
